Marillion's new studio acoustic album Less is More, out now!
2009 brought a new studio acoustic album ‘Less Is More’.
Released all over Europe in cooperation with Edel music and the band’s own label Intact. This project has been a chance for Marillion to shine new light onto their songs. The band selected songs, some of which they have never performed acoustically before, giving them new arrangements and a new edge.
What Marillion have developed during the recording of this studio album is a real pop avant-garde experiment: to deprive the song of their original dress, to reconstruct them with a completely new minimalistic and intimate approach starting only from the melodies and the nude chord sequences.
All five members of the band pushed the songs to unexpected new musical territories to showcase the essence of their songs in this alternative, intimate and exciting format.

Any Transatlantic fans or Marillion fans for that matter who would like to hear what I got up to in Nashville after the Canadian convention can order any of the 3 versions direct from Racket Records. I think you'll like it.
The 2 CD special edition & Box set feature the song 'Lending A Hand' that I wrote, arranged and sang lead vocals on for the project.
The Deluxe edition also has the making of DVD with lots of footage of me and the guys actually being filmed while recording and generally misbehaving in the studio.
The new Wishing Tree album Ostara is at last finished! Its available to buy through Racket Records.
The song Hollow Hills and further sound clips are available as free downloads from ReverbNation
At last! The long-anticipated DVD of my Union Chapel h Natural show in September last year. It was a magical night, a great vibe and I think this captures it beautifully! It sounds great (I mixed it myself) and - all in all - it's a good-humoured romp! To relive the full horror of my life, there's bonus material of some classic diary monologues too. If you were there (at the gig, I mean), you can relive the experience. If you weren't and you'd like to hear some stripped-bare, intimate performances of my favourite songs, then this is for you.
Order the double album Happiness is the Road in the Deluxe Campaign 2CD Edition or standard Jewel Case editions from Racket Records - the EMI European retail release is also available through this website.
In December 2009 Happiness is the Road was also released in a limited edition vinyl format.

IMPORTANT NOTE: TRACK 11 ON 'Essence' IS INTENTIONALLY BLANK!
You will notice the track list on the artwork of 'Essence' only goes up to number 10, with the occasional very-hard-to-read hints at the last track (12) called “Half Full Jam”.
The band intended this track to be a ‘hidden track’ on the album – but rather than leave 2 minutes of silence after “Happiness is the Road” and putting the music for “Hall Full Jam” on the same audio CD track, the band decided to re-create the same effect but with individual track markers. This method was specifically chosen to make the individual tracks easier to import into digital music libraries with programs such as iTunes or similar – allowing you to simply ‘skip’ or not import the silence that would have normally been part of the same audio track.
Again, this is not an error or a problem with the disc, just the band’s artistic choice to have a ‘hidden track’ and the particular way they decided to implement it.
